Dawn Heefner

Dawn Heefner has been the medical producer at Action News in Philadelphia for nearly 15 years, after stints as newscast producer, assignment editor, ENG editor, and writer. Prior to coming to WPVI-TV, Heefner was a writer/reporter at KYW-Newsradio. As a medical producer, Heefner covers new diagnostics and treatments, but also health policy as it affects viewers. In recent years, that has included extensive reporting in Pennsylvania’s malpractice crisis, the decline in availability of maternity (delivery) services, and health insurance difficulties.
